This past Friday - Shallou released his newest EP, “The Long Way Home.” A collection of songs he released sporadically during his “The Long Way Home” concert tour.
With his latest release, Shallou (aka Joe Boston), is cementing his particular vocal and lyrical style that makes him stand out in the genre of Electronic Music.
The first three songs really stand out in this album, “Corners,” “High Tide” and “Heartaches, even amongst some of his most popular hits

The first song “Corners” really shows off Joe’s growing lyrical style:
We're still alive
And we crawl back to the light
The future's bright
If it all keeps up and I can win the fight
In the corners of my mind.
“Corners” really delves into the personal struggles and depression many felt through the pandemic. Using that soft, breathy falsetto, Joe showcases his ability to create another infectious hook, “I could only try, for so long…” The lyric echos so deeply with this listener.

The next song, “High Tide” brings out Joe’s tonal and musicality skills with another brilliant hook. With cowriter, Panama, Joe really shows of his production and melody skills in this song.

With “Heartaches,” Joe collaborates with Grammy nominated Elderbrook to create a upbeat song. One that makes your feet move and your head bob.
Overall “The Long Way Home” is worth not only just streaming on a road trip but worth purchasing as one the top EP’s to come out this year.
